JOB DESCRIPTION

Saint-Gobain's Datalab brings together around fifteen data scientists who work for all of the Group's activities. It works on the major challenges of the Group's digital transformation, with on one hand projects related to Industry 4.0 (improvement of industrial production, optimization of the supply chain), and on the other hand projects related to exploitation of commercial data (algorithms for e-commerce and sales development platforms). Within the Datalab, your missions will be as follows:

• Collaborate with the activities and entities of the Group to frame their needs and lead projects on themes as diverse as production, supply chain, marketing or business development.
• Carry out analyzes and models implementing machine learning techniques (supervised and unsupervised) or optimization.
• Build models, integrate them into application prototypes and be able to support their industrialization with the business.
• Communicate effectively with your clients to share your analyzes and results using interactive visualizations, presentations, documents or notebooks.
• Be on the lookout for new machine learning or optimization methods and share them with the rest of the Datalab during our internal seminars.

You will be responsible for the framing, the proposals, the control of the deadlines and the resources on the studies that you will have to carry out. You have good interpersonal skills to lead projects in a collaborative atmosphere and to establish internal contacts within the Saint-Gobain Group (R&D centers, factories, industrial departments, marketing, etc.) and external (startups, meetups, data science communities).
Short-term trips are to be expected in France and abroad, to the group's places of activity.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD in Mathematics or Statistics, with a solid background in data analysis and optimization.
• You master one of the following languages: Python, R, C ++.
• You want to apply your knowledge to industrial issues.
• You are a synthetic, clear person and have good written and oral communication skills.
• You have a team spirit: you have good interpersonal skills and like to share your knowledge.
• You spontaneously watch and like to test the latest news.
• Fluency in English is essential for the position.
